Libya’s internationally recognized parliament in Tobruk, the House of Representatives, decided to postpone a vote on a national unity government until Feb. 23, giving prime minister-designate Fayez Sarraj until Feb. 20 to present his Cabinet lineup for approval, AFP reported Feb. 16. A vote was due to be held Feb. 15, but lawmakers reportedly agreed to a request for more time by Sarraj after two ministerial candidates withdrew their names, Libya Herald reported. Sources in the House of Representatives say there is concern about a number of potential ministers and have suggested that that lawmakers may choose to vote for each candidate on a one-by-one basis, rather than a holding a single vote for the entire Cabinet.
