Italian energy company Eni said Wednesday it was able to boost its production at a gas field in Egypt within a year of making the initial discovery. Eni said production from an exploration well in the Nooros field was up to about 65,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day, a level reached 10 months after the initial discovery in the Nile Delta region of Egypt. The company said the next benchmark would be to double that level by the end of the year by drilling additional wells.
