Total SA expects production soon from its 225,500-barrel-per-day (bpd) Port Arthur, Texas, refinery, which has been shut since an Aug. 30 power outage during Tropical Storm Harvey, a company spokeswoman said on Tuesday. Gulf Coast market sources said the restart continued to be delayed by a plugged pipeline that supplies oil to the crude distillation units (CDUs). Total was also forced to shut a 30,000-bpd diesel hydrotreater for repairs following a fire on the unit, the sources said. Total spokeswoman Tricia Fuller called what the sources said “not correct.” “The comment on the blocked crude line and a fire are not correct,” Fuller said. “The Total Port Arthur Refinery is restarting the plant and anticipates first production soon.
