Motor club AAA warned that consumer gasoline prices in the United States could be on the rise given signs in government data of robust demand. The U.S. Energy Information Administration reported earlier this week that demand for gasoline for the week ending July 27 was 1,000 barrels per day short of setting an all-time record. So far, consumer demand for gasoline is about 1.5 percent higher than last year, while gasoline supplies have moved lower. “If demand remains robust amid dwindling stocks, motorists are likely to see pump prices continue to increase throughout the summer,” a statement from AAA read.
