The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said on Wednesday it would achieve the 2.3 million barrels per day production target in the 2019 budget by sustaining the improved security in the oil-producing areas. The Group Managing Director of the NNPC, Maikanti Baru, stated this at the presentation of the 2019 -2021 Medium Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) to the Senate Committee on Finance. Mr Baru said with improved security in oil bearing communities as a result of sustainable community partnership; the NNPC was confident the oil industry would attain the production target in the 2019 budget.
