Average January oil production was below the all-time high in December of 1,402,741 by about 300 b/d, or a fraction of 1%. Another all-time high was set in the number of producing wells in January – 15,397, up from 15,369 in December. The number of rigs currently running in North Dakota, 65, is relatively stable with February’s 64, January’s 66 and December’s 67 averages, NDIC said. The all-time high for rigs was 218 in late May 2012.
