Cheniere Partners says the newest SPL train was completed ahead of schedule and within budget. Train 5 of the Sabine Pass Liquefaction (SPL) Project in Cameron Parish, La., achieved the “Substantial Completion” milestone on March 7, Cheniere Energy Partners, L.P. reported Friday. Having reached the Substantial Completion stage, engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) firm Bechtel Oil, Gas and Chemicals, Inc. has turned over care, custody and control of Train 5 to Cheniere Partners, the SPL owner stated. Cheniere Partners also noted that, given the liquefaction train’s updated status, the company’s statement of operations from now on will reflect financial results of LNG sales from Train 5. Located on the Sabine-Neches Waterway near the Gulf of Mexico, Cheniere Partners’ Sabine Pass LNG terminal boasts five approximately 4.5-million tonne per annum (mtpa) liquefaction trains.
