Vistra Energy President and CEO Curt Morgan on Friday touted the advantages for all stakeholders if Illinois enacts the state Coal to Solar and Energy Storage Act in this legislative session, but gave it a “less than 50%” chance of passage before a separate “veto session” in November. During Vistra’s Friday morning first-quarter earnings call, Morgan said the bill is favored by communities that depend on the tax base from coal plants and environmentalists seeking to reduce emissions.
