The U.S. added three oil rigs and lost two gas rigs for a net gain of one rig this week. Following three consecutive weeks of declines, the U.S. added three oil rigs this week. This was offset by a decline of two gas rigs for a net gain of one rig, according to weekly data from Baker Hughes, a GE Company. This brings the nation’s total rig count to 984 active rigs, which is 76 fewer than the count one year ago at 1,060. New Mexico added two rigs and Louisiana added one rig.
