US natural gas in storage rose 89 Bcf to 2.390 Tcf for the week ended Friday, the US Energy Information Administration reported Wednesday.  The injection was more than an S&P Global Platts survey of analysts calling for a 79 Bcf injection. The wider survey responses ranged from builds of 68-90 Bcf. The report was released a day early because of the Independence Day holiday. The build was again much more than the 76 Bcf build reported during the corresponding week in 2018 and the five-year average injection of 70 Bcf, according to EIA data. As a result, stocks were 249 Bcf, or 11.6%, more than the year-ago level of 2.141 Tcf and 152 Bcf, or 6%, less than the five-year average of 2.542 Tcf.
