Iraq averaged nationwide oil exports of 3.983 million barrels per day (bpd) in September, a 2.3 percent month-on-month decline reflecting Oil Minister Thamir Ghadhban’s promise to decrease Iraqi output in support of an OPEC agreement and a planned pipeline outage in Turkey. Federal Iraqi crude loadings at the Turkish port of Ceyhan increased, as did trucking to Jordan, but neither were enough to offset reductions in the country’s largest export streams: federal oil sales via terminals in the Basra Gulf, and Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) sales at Ceyhan.
