The UK government’s block on onshore wind development continues to threaten Scottish jobs in the sector, association Scottish Renewables said Friday. Some 47 wind farms with planning permission are unable to proceed due to the continued lack of support, preventing construction of 1.6 GW of capacity, the association said. An effective moratorium on development has prompted wind tower manufacturer CS Wind to warn it may cut three quarters of its Argyll workforce.
