Unplanned outages at several large Midwest refineries are supporting higher diesel and gasoline prices, market sources said.  Group 3 suboctane gasoline was assessed at prompt NYMEX RBOB minus 1.15 cent/gal Thursday, up from the January-to-date average of minus 6.17 cents/gal. Chicago ULSD was assessed Thursday at NYMEX ULSD minus 9 cents/gal, up from the January average of minus 20 cents/gal. Refineries hit by unplanned outages include Flint Hill’s 320,000 b/d Pine Bend, Minnesota plant, ExxonMobil’s 238,600 b/d Joliet refinery in Illinois, and Phillips 66’s 207,000 b/d Ponca City, Oklahoma plant.
